Multi-Dimensional God

Yesterday, I was complaining about the messy Walnut tree  in our backyard.  You sweep the driveway yet the next day it looks like you haven’t touched it for months.  As I was thinking about how much I’d like to cut it down, I looked up and saw a leaf falling.  Instantly, several verses shot through my mind - it was one of those “God teaching moments” - those moments when God humbles you in one fell swoop. He brought me to my spiritual knees in the blink of an eye.

Leaf

The first scripture which hit me was, “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30.  It would stand to reason that if God counts the number of hairs on our heads, which is an ever evolving amount, He would also know each tree and how many leaves it has.

The second scripture that popped in my brain is actually the part of the first text, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.”  Matthew 10:29  Nothing is too small to escape His notice or care.

The next verse made the tears start falling, “The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19  All of God’s creation groans with longing for God’s plan of salvation and redemption to play out.  Everything He breathed into existence remembers what it was like in the Garden of Eden and waits with eager expectation for God to reconcile Himself to the world.  Each time someone accepts Jesus as Savior and King, all creation feels it, even my Walnut tree.  “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”  Romans 8:22

The last verses that shot through me, completely wrecked me…  “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. “  Ephesians 4:4-6  (Emphasis added)

The God OF all, who is OVER all, THROUGH all, and IN all.  We serve, worship, and love a God who is multi-dimensional.  He is everywhere at all times, in all things and cares to know even the slightest detail about His creation. He is infinitely worthy of praise!

I see a leaf and think of Him.  Yep,  God has ruined me for normality.  “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”  Psalm 150:6
